STAY GROUNDED

I’m a one step closer to reaching one of my endeavors in life. As of the moment, I am reviewing for a board exam. Yes, I am chemical engineer in the making. God knows how badly I want to pass, however, there is one thing I am afraid to happen.

See, I grew having lots of expectations from people around me, though it’s such a pain, it makes me feel so proud whenever they congratulate me to every success I have. However, the more “congratulation” I get, the more proud I become. This is what I am being afraid of. I don’t wanna lose myself and get drowned in the sea of success. We are all human, and I guess, this is one of traits human being has – boastful. I owe everything to God and I it scares me that one day, I’ll forget him and become so much in love with myself and with the luxuries of success.

Who doesn't want to get rich? Who doesn't want to be famous? Who doesn't want to be a well-respected person? Who doesn't want to succeed? Everybody does, however, as for me, if I succeed but lose myself in the process, I’d rather die unsuccessful.

Right now, I am pleading to God that He may grant my wish and that is to become a REGISTERED CHEMICAL ENGINEER and be able to practice in my field of expertise. But this plea comes with a condition that He would always disturb me and reminds me to remain grounded in everything I achieve. That in every success I acquire, all praises, honor and recognition would ALWAYS go to Him.  IT’S NOT BAD TO WANT TO SUCCEED, WHAT’S BAD IS TO FORGET THE ONE WHOM WE OWE OUR SUCCESS WITH.
WORK HARD, SUCCEED BUT REMAIN GROUNDED. With this, God will always bless you with greater things than you couldn't possibly imagine.

 1 PETER 5:6

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Exercise of Faith

It is in the impossibility of things that miracles happen and it is in those moments that our faith in Him is being tested.

God works in ways we humans can never imagine and understand. If we’ll always remain faithful in Him, then we’ll expect to receive lots of miracles. The stronger the faith, the greater the miracle.

I am expecting a miracle to happen this month and by the time it happens, I’ll testify and shout to the world how the impossible for humans became possible in Him and how a strong faith moves mountains.

HEBREWS 11:1

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

But God

I may not look pretty to them, but in God, I do.
I may not smart to them, but in God, I am.
They may not know me, but God does.
I may not a friend to them, but in God, I am.
I may not matter to them, but in God, I do.
I may not famous to them, but in God, I am.
They may not love me, but God does.
I may be small to them, but in God, I'm big.
I may be weak to them, but God believes I'm strong.
They may have abandoned me, but God never leaves me.
They may have hurt me, but God healed me.

See? I may be NOTHING to them, but God values me so much!

God Wants Me to Know

If you feel yourself floundering in the sea of life, try leaning back and floating. Let yourself be supported. Gaze into the beautiful sky and allow time for your spirit to be refreshed. Then when you are feeling stronger, simply choose a direction and start swimming.

The Only Important Thing

Busy here, busy there. We are all busy with our studies, work, family, business and friends. We do everything in order for us to be successful, but let me ask you, have you really done everything or are you missing something? Something that is very important, in fact, it is the most important thing.

Let me tell you a story. This is about Jesus and His friends, Martha and Maria. One day, Jesus visited Maria and Martha for them to have fellowship with Him. As Jesus arrived, Martha, who loves Jesus so much, got busy cleaning the house and preparing the food for Him while Mary  has just seated beside Jesus listening to His words.  When Martha noticed that Mary is not helping her, she asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. But, Jesus told her "Martha! Martha you are worried and upset on many things which in fact only few things are needed and Mary chose the better thing, the most important thing!"

The story tells us not to get ourselves busy on things that are not worthy to have our attention. It tells us to put God as our first priority. Have we ever not realized that we are all busy on achieving things that are of worldly basis, things that we cannot bring to heaven and we cannot use when the real judgment comes. Have we ever not realized that all those careers, diplomas, famous names and others are not the basis for our salvation? The judgment time is like a commencement exercise, we will march on the isle bringing what we have achieved based on how we have expressed our love for Him and how we have pleased Him in our existence here on earth.

God gave us this borrowed life for us to please Him and only Him. We are not here to please ourselves. It is therefore right to live this life fruitfully. And when I say fruitfully, what I mean is a life with lots achievements in terms of pleasing our creator.

Here is the source of the story.

Luke 10:38-42

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Undo

There are things in life that we wish not to happen but they do, we wish not to have done, but we did, things that we want to be undone but we can't. We don't have the ability of a time traveler that can go to the future and see what will happen if we do this and that, we don't have superpowers that can turn back time and undo the things that we regret. Were human, we all do mistakes, we do things that we deplore. No matter how much we tell ourselves not to regret because at one point, it was exactly what we wanted, there would just that moment that we would tell ourselves, "I wish I have not done it.", and it's too late, we have nothing else to do but to lament. What's the hard part about it are the sufferings, if it would not be physical, it will be emotional pain and it's hard. It's really hard. It slowly kills us in the inside, it can makes us weak, vulnerable, lazy and most of all, it can makes us stop living.

The pain, if not treated well and handled properly would make us hopeless and a hopeless life means a meaningless, senseless and useless living. We need to stop the pain, heal the wounds and go on with our lives. The only  way for us to do it is to face the consequences of our actions, try to find solutions for the problems, stop thinking of undoing what have happened, be open minded, live back on track, start a new beginning, and most of all, we need to entrust our life the omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent God. Only with Him we can be healed, take a rest and keep calm. Only with Him we can achieve peace and hope.

A CHAT WITH JESUS CHRIST...

Jesus: Hello. Did you call me?

Man: Called you? No. Who is this?

Jesus: This is Jesus. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.

Man: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

Jesus: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Man: Don’t know. But I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.

Jesus: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Man: I understand. But I still can’t figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

Jesus: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Man: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

Jesus: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Man: why are we then constantly unhappy?

Jesus: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.

Man: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

Jesus: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Man: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.

Jesus: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

Man: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

Jesus: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.

Man: You mean to say such experience is useful?

Jesus: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Man: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?

Jesus: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

Man: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading.

Jesus: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Man: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

Jesus: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Man: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

Jesus: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Man: What surprises you about people?

Jesus: When they suffer they ask, “why me? When they prosper, they never ask “Why me” Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.

Man: Sometimes I ask, who I am, why am I here. I can’t get the answer.

Jesus: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.

Man: How can I get the best out of life?

Jesus: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Man: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

Jesus: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

Man: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy to start the day with a new sense of inspiration.

Jesus: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

Man: Thank you so much.

Jesus: You are always welcome. Have a good day my fr
iend.

What is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

It's not easy to hope for something that we think is impossible to happen. It's not easy to be certain on things that  our bare eyes haven't seen yet. But as long as we have Jesus in our lives and we have a really great faith on Him, we will be able to command a mountain to move and throw itself to the ocean.

Well, it's not literally moving a mountain, it only just means that we will be able to conquer whatever obstacles, hindrances and sufferings this sinner world offers, no matter how big it is.

When huge wave of problems is approaching, all we have to do is to let go and let God. I mean, acknowledge and accept our dependence on Him and let Him work on our lives. Let Him do His will for us. After all, entrusting everything to Him is what faith all about!

He's the Reason

Whenever you were asked for the reason of your existence, what's the first thing that comes up your mind?

Well, if you ask me, the only reason why I'm still existing and still fighting is God. He has given us the chance to live here in this world for us to be able to change and mold ourselves into the the person He wants us to be.

This world isn't our permanent place, we all know that, and as long as we're still existing, living and fighting, we have to make it sure that what were fighting for is at the right side and of for God's glory.

The only secret for a Godly and happy life is making God as the center of it and dedicating to Him every move and activities you are going to do to.

A Christian life is never easy as it is, but as long as God is fighting with you, there's no war that you cannot conquer.

Have faith and never quit!
