But God

I may not look pretty to them, but in God, I do.
I may not smart to them, but in God, I am.
They may not know me, but God does.
I may not a friend to them, but in God, I am.
I may not matter to them, but in God, I do.
I may not famous to them, but in God, I am.
They may not love me, but God does.
I may be small to them, but in God, I'm big.
I may be weak to them, but God believes I'm strong.
They may have abandoned me, but God never leaves me.
They may have hurt me, but God healed me.

See? I may be NOTHING to them, but God values me so much!

God Wants Me to Know

If you feel yourself floundering in the sea of life, try leaning back and floating. Let yourself be supported. Gaze into the beautiful sky and allow time for your spirit to be refreshed. Then when you are feeling stronger, simply choose a direction and start swimming.

My parents may not that old compared to the video, but eventually, they will soon. This video has touched my heart so much. It made me realize how short the time we have on earth and with that, we need to use that time wisely. While it's not too late, let's show our love and care to our parents.

So much for the pretensions.
So much for the lies.
So much for trying to meet their expectations.
So much for not being myself.
I'm tired of it.
I wanna live.
I want a life.
I want to be free.
I will listen to them no longer.
I will be me!

The Only Important Thing

Busy here, busy there. We are all busy with our studies, work, family, business and friends. We do everything in order for us to be successful, but let me ask you, have you really done everything or are you missing something? Something that is very important, in fact, it is the most important thing.

Let me tell you a story. This is about Jesus and His friends, Martha and Maria. One day, Jesus visited Maria and Martha for them to have fellowship with Him. As Jesus arrived, Martha, who loves Jesus so much, got busy cleaning the house and preparing the food for Him while Mary  has just seated beside Jesus listening to His words.  When Martha noticed that Mary is not helping her, she asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. But, Jesus told her "Martha! Martha you are worried and upset on many things which in fact only few things are needed and Mary chose the better thing, the most important thing!"

The story tells us not to get ourselves busy on things that are not worthy to have our attention. It tells us to put God as our first priority. Have we ever not realized that we are all busy on achieving things that are of worldly basis, things that we cannot bring to heaven and we cannot use when the real judgment comes. Have we ever not realized that all those careers, diplomas, famous names and others are not the basis for our salvation? The judgment time is like a commencement exercise, we will march on the isle bringing what we have achieved based on how we have expressed our love for Him and how we have pleased Him in our existence here on earth.

God gave us this borrowed life for us to please Him and only Him. We are not here to please ourselves. It is therefore right to live this life fruitfully. And when I say fruitfully, what I mean is a life with lots achievements in terms of pleasing our creator.

Here is the source of the story.

Luke 10:38-42

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Hello DECEMBER

December 1, 2011 at last! This month is my most awaited month of the year, because aside from being the year's last month, this is also the month of the birth of Jesus. What makes this month an awaited one? Well, this is the time when giving, loving, peace and understanding are mostly felt. The warm hello and greetings of "merry Christmas" from people passing by, the gifts from families and friends and most of all, the perfect time of gathering family members together are just are an "oh so overwhelming" jiffy that could make your heart fly. But those acts I've mentioned earlier are just part of the party. The most important thing that we need to do is to be grateful to our Almighty for giving us His only begotten son who have saved us from our unrighteous deeds.

On the other hand, how sad it is for me to think that those signs of loving and giving are can only be visible on Christmas season.I mean, when it's not Christmas, it is rarely seen. Why can't we show this every month? (Oh well, it's just a thought! Let's go back to the happy one.)

Another awaited things on Christmas are the Christmas decorations. Especially with us, Filipinos, we love to decorate our houses with lights and lanterns (star shaped lanterns mostly). Beautiful and twinkling lights on roads, parks and almost everywhere plus the Christmas carols we sing on every houses are just very wonderful and very overwhelming on the heart.

The happiness that Christmas brings is the most awaited one. It is not all about the twinkling lights, foods and gifts, rather, it's about the smile brought about by the love from others. Let's be joyful for this season, above all, let's all be thankful to Jesus for coming to our lives.

         MERRY CHRISTMAS to you.  :)
